Frequently Asked Questions

What are one-by-one eyelash extensions?

Using a special technique and a specific, hypoallergenic, and waterproof adhesive, a synthetic or natural hair lash is applied to each individual lash. We do this at a distance of 1 to 2 mm from the root of your lash to avoid allergies or damage to your lash. The eyelash extensions gradually fall out, lasting a maximum of 4-5 weeks.

Is it normal for my natural eyelashes to fall out?

Yes, our eyelashes have a life cycle of approximately 40-60 days. After that time, they fall out and give way to a new lash. Therefore, any extensions placed on top of that lash will fall out with it. Our natural lashes will regenerate whether we wear eyelash extensions individually or not.

Does eyelash extension treatment require any specific care?

After treatment, we recommend not getting them wet for the first 12-24 hours, and we should use oil-free products in the eye area to avoid damaging the adhesive's function.

Otherwise, it doesn't require any other care that you wouldn't have with your natural eyelashes.

Can I have eyelash extensions done individually if I'm allergic to cosmetics?

The product has minimal contact with the skin, and all products used are hypoallergenic and comply with US cosmetic regulations, and are FDA-approved.

How often should I perform eyelash extension maintenance?

one by one?

There isn't a specific frequency for all clients, but each client has a different cycle depending on their natural eyelash cycle. We recommend maintenance every 15-20 days after each treatment. In any case, clients who come in within a maximum of 30 days after treatment will be considered maintenance.

Will my eyelashes be damaged or in any danger when undergoing a 1-on-1 eyelash extension treatment?

Natural eyelashes are not damaged in any way because the extensions are placed 1 to 2 mm in front of the natural eyelash root. This way, and by avoiding contact with the skin, we reduce the risk of allergies and allow our eyelashes to continue their normal life cycle, regenerating just as they would without eyelash extensions.

Is microblading done only once?

After the initial procedure, a touch-up is recommended to fill in any remaining sparse areas. This is generally performed 4-8 weeks after the first treatment.

How to care for your eyebrows after treatment?

You will be given instructions for eyebrow care after treatment, based on your skin type. For the next 7 days, you should avoid, as much as possible, activities that may cause sweating, as well as public pools, dusty environments, and extreme sun exposure.

Will it change color over time?

PHIBROWS pigments are color-stable, meaning they will never turn red or blue over time. They do not contain illegal amounts of heavy metals like lead and iron dioxide, and they do not react with magnets. The pigments are produced according to the highest standards.

Is microblading painful?

You may experience some discomfort. It's often compared to waxing. If we compare the pain of microblading with that of micropigmentation, the latter is equally or even more painful. We add topical anesthesia, so the discomfort is considerably reduced.

How often should we get a deep cleaning?

It all depends on your skin type, and the minimum is at least once a year. For normal skin, a frequency of one to three months between deep cleansings is recommended. For mature, dry, or blemished skin, once every six months; and for acne-prone skin, once every two weeks to control infection and inflammation.

When is the application of Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) recommended?

This treatment is recommended for people over the age of 30, when the skin begins to lose its regenerative capacity or simply when the signs of aging become visible. It can be applied both as a preventative treatment for young skin and as a restorative treatment for aging skin.

What is the difference between Botox and fillers?

Botox relaxes the muscles that cause motion wrinkles, such as expression lines on the forehead or between the eyebrows.
Fillers (dermal fillers) are used to add volume, fill deep lines, or define areas such as lips, cheekbones, or chin.

How long do the results last?

The duration of results varies depending on the type of treatment, the area treated, and each patient's metabolism. In the case of Botox, the effects typically last between 3 and 4 months, after which a touch-up is recommended to maintain the results.
Dermal fillers, depending on the type of hyaluronic acid used and the area treated, can last between 8 and 18 months. Areas like the lips tend to absorb the product more quickly than others, such as the chin or cheekbones. Consistency and professional follow-up help prolong the results harmoniously.

Can I get Botox or fillers if

is this my first time?

Yes, of course. In fact, many people start with small doses to test how they feel and see the results. We always recommend a prior assessment, where we discuss your expectations, review your facial anatomy, and explain the procedure step by step.
Our goal is for you to feel comfortable, confident, and well-informed. Each treatment is personalized, and we never perform any procedure without first ensuring it's what you truly want and need.

What care should I take after treatment?

After Botox or filler treatment, it's important to follow some guidelines to optimize results and avoid complications. We recommend not touching or massaging the treated area for the first 24 hours, avoiding lying down or strenuous exercise for at least 4 to 6 hours, and avoiding exposure to heat sources such as saunas or steam rooms.
It's also essential to avoid alcohol, heavy makeup, and facial treatments on the day. At the end of your appointment, we'll provide you with a personalized post-procedure care guide, and we're always available for any questions or follow-up assistance you may need.

What is Botox made of?

Botox is composed of a purified form of botulinum toxin type A, a protein that works by temporarily relaxing the muscles responsible for expression lines. Although the name "toxin" may sound alarming, it is completely safe when used in minimal, controlled doses, as in cosmetic medicine.
This substance works by blocking the signal that nerves send to muscles, preventing them from contracting forcefully and thus smoothing out dynamic facial wrinkles. Botox is an FDA-approved medication and has been used for over 20 years in aesthetics and general medicine with excellent results.

Who can get Botox?

Botox can be applied to people over 18 years of age who wish to soften expression lines or prevent their appearance. It is ideal for those with visible lines on the forehead, between the eyebrows, or around the eyes (crow's feet), or those seeking a more relaxed and refreshed look.
However, it is not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding women, or for people with certain neuromuscular conditions, allergies to any of its components, or active infections in the area being treated. Therefore, at Daniela Montilla Med Spa, we always conduct a prior assessment to ensure that the treatment is safe, appropriate, and beneficial for each patient.
